This quartet, formed in 2023, draws inspiration from the Californian and Texan repertoire of the 1930s and 40s, known as Western Swing. This lesser-known musical style within the swing family borrows as much from New York Jazz as from Django Reinhardt and Texas Cowboy Songs.
Dandelion String Band re-arranges genre classics and writes its own pieces, featuring a string instrumentation of steel guitar, electric mandolin, archtop guitars, and double bass. Their repertoire includes upbeat songs, melancholic ballads, and spirited instrumentals. Their debut EP is slated for release in 2026 on the label. Celebration Days Records.
