Calico Drive

Calico Drive

Calico Drive is a five-part string quintet drawing on the roots of Appalachian music, passed down and sung for centuries in these mountainous regions of the United States. This dynamic music alternates between sensitive verses recounting love, wandering, and labor, harmonized refrains with powerful inflections, and instrumental passages that inspire improvisation and collective trance.
After refining its sound palette through numerous trips to the USA - Appalachians, Wild West, West Coast - Calico Drive takes its audience on a road trip through rural America. In this universe, the power of acoustic music is exposed with simplicity and the dance becomes irresistible. Scenic complicity, authenticity of sound and rhythmic union remain the key words.
These five talented musicians dip their brushes into this tradition and color their music with their own influences, embodying their original compositions and rearrangements in an imaginative and modern spirit.
Alum Ridge Boys & Ashlee

Alum Ridge Boys & Ashlee

Coming straight from the small town of Floyd lost in the mountains of Virginia, The Alum Ridge Boys & Ashlee are welcomed with open arms by Herbe Bleue for their very first French date.

Exploiting the fertile common ground between Bluegrass, old-time Country music and traditional mountain tunes, this award-winning group – including at the 85th Annual Old Fiddlers Convention in Galax, Virginia and the 51st Mount Airy Fiddlers Convention in North Carolina – will captivate you with their powerful harmony vocals and energetic instrumentals through tasteful originals that blend perfectly with the classics.

Steph Doe

Steph Doe

Singer and multi-instrumentalist, Steph Doe has been playing in various bluegrass/old-time bands on the French and English stages for around ten years (Dear John – music , Pig Society , Blue Lass , The Cartiers of Paris …)

Passionate about Anglo-Saxon literature, the Carter Family, women's stories, psychoanalysis, barbershop quartets and a great admirer of Jean Ritchie, Stephanie is in the habit of unearthing in the traditional American repertoire the most poignant or provocative pieces that tell the story of women's lives and overturn preconceived ideas...

Herbe Bleue gives him carte blanche: Steph will reveal his songs to us – a mixture of dark humor and depressing observations – arranged in an old-time style sometimes bordering on Baesian folk.

She will be accompanied by outstanding musicians: Louisiane Beck (violin), Lucas Henri (banjo, double bass, mandolin), Alice Viale, Eloïse Veille

Rain Of Animals

Rain Of Animals

Born in 2018 during an impromptu jam in a pub in Melbourne, Australia, Rain of Animals is the meeting of Pepita Emmerichs (Oh Pep! ) and Theodore Thomas Barnard (Wire & Wool), two Scotsmen who want to share their love of music through their compositions and arrangements of essential Bluegrass and Oldtime classics.
Back in their native Scotland, they produced their very first album "Nali's World" inspired by their travels and the people they met on the road, then embarked on a European and Australian tour where they had the opportunity to share the stage with numerous artists such as Stereo Naked, Harry Bird, Barry Nisbet and Good Guy Hank.

These two musicians will accompany you for a concert introducing you to gospel classics. Come sing!
