The flat foot (Or flatfootingAppalachian dance is a traditional dance rooted in American folk culture. Performed to fiddle, banjo, or guitar music, this dance is characterized by gliding steps, rhythmic footwork, and fluid movements, all while remaining close to the ground. Without a partner, the dancer improvises with elegance and energy, creating a dialogue between the music and their feet. Both simple and technical, the flat foot embodies the festive and authentic spirit of community gatherings.
